Happy Birthday Malaysia!

Happy 52th Merdeka!

i<3MY

Thanks for being my country. I love you, Malaysia. =D

But I wish to see you progress and bring the nation a better tomorrow! Let's work hard together.

kids

I'm secretly a patriotic person at heart. I love my own country, really do and I am proud to be a Malaysian despite what people might think or say. :)

I even went for a Merdeka countdown yesterday and I invited so many of my other friends and no one is free for me loh. Argh. Stupid shit. hahahha. Anyway I had a new friend to go together with me. So it's okay!

Anyway, from KL last week, I'm now in Singapore! I reached Penang from KL early Saturday morning, busily stayed at home for two days and departed to Singapore early in the morning today.

I'm here for a Options Trading SEMINAR. Yeah. you hear me right. Seminar again. Hoho.It is held at a beautiful 5-star hotel and we are served some pretty food for tea time. :)

mashcake

Our tea-time were arranged in the way that is just one and a half hour after our late lunch. So when i was walking out from our seminar room, I told myself I must not eat anymore. But then when I walked passed that food tray, I couldn't resist those the tiny chocolate cakes topped with mini mashmallows.

So I ate. Again. Gees. So much of deciding to lose some weight to improve my running. Gees.

I'm now in my small hostel room blogging about this, on my double decker bed. It's my first time in this town hostel, not the best hostel I have ever stayed, but this nice little cosy room is enough to make me feel comfortable. :)

Show you.
room

I like the chandelier-like lamp. :)

I have to go to bed now. Laptop battery running super low. Eyelids weighing super heavy. Tomorrow have to wake up kinda early. GEES. Goodnight. Byebye.

Restaurant A, B or C?

It's April, the 4th month of the year. And I'm always most zestful about this particular month.

You know why?

Because I'm gonna receive birthday wishes, birthday celebrations, birthday hugs and kisses, and birthday PRESENTS! =D
(Note: I'm actually NOT hinting you anything, so NOT la ok, haiyo.)

As always, probably in every single day of our life, we encounter the very million-dolar question,

"WHERE TO EAT?"

So on birthdays, nonetheless, the same problem occurs.

The very same problem.

I still can't decide where to celebrate my birthday with my family. =S

I searched through the net but don't know where to start from. So I think asking Peiying, the great food hunter, is a very wise decision.

If you can see, she's flooded my cbox by the side --->

1. Feringghi Grill, Rasa Sayang. Western.
2. Thirty-two. Western.
3. An irish restaurant bar along the Tanjung Tokong road, not hard to find since it's sign is green
4. Vintage Bulgaria. Bulgarian food.
5. Ingolf. German food.
6. Bella Italia for Italian. (Been there. Cross from list)
7. Smokey jack in UPR. nice ambiance. some food nice. some not. havent been there though
8. Salsas in UPR. (Just viewed the menu, don't like. Cross.)
9. Louis Cafe, Agryll Road. Western.
10. Miss Saigon, E-gate / Pulau Tikus. Vietnamese.
11. Mario Ristorante, Batu Ferringghi. Italian.
12. Ferringhi Garden, Batu Ferringghi (after park royal. turn into a right narrow lane. around that place). Western.
13. Sunset Bistro. (Going with college friends on Thursday for a sort-of Birthday countdown. Check.)
14. Isaribi Tei Japanese Restaurant, Jalan Chow Thye.

One more from her blog.

15. Victoria Station. Western. (Bombe Alaska, looks very appetising!)

Ok, now that I'm spoiled with 15 choices...

No wait, 18 actually.

My mum also came up with 3 other suggestions:

16. The Ship, Batu Ferringhi
17. QE II
18. Golden Triangle

Gosh. Please tell me, seriously:

"WHERE TO EAT?"

Omg. I have one day more till Friday to decide before me and my family eat me on my birthday.

I can't wait for Friday! =)

Sister, you are now Officially an adult.

Happy 21st Birthday, my one and only, dearest Jeje!

It was a celebration towards her adulthood. As a usual tradition, she 'demanded' a Key-pendant necklace as her birthday gift from my parents and a RM300 long-dreamt-for handbag.

She took a flight to come back from Johor and we had to pick her up from the airport in the morning and her big day started from there.

First was to bring her to her favourite food, then we went to do some shopping as I really don't know what to give her as a 'practical' present so might as well bring her to choose what she wants.

Actually I have prepared another suprise for her. You'll know what later.

I told her I want to take photos together with her, for my college assignment's purpose, and she agreed unquestionably.

Then we went around the mall looking for her ideal present from me.

While my mum and her were having a drink somewhere in the mall, I silently went to the photo shop to print out the photo.

At night, we went to Tao to have her birthday dinner.

Free-flow ordering ala buffet style Japanese dinner, RM48 ++ per pax. I like it there. =)

Because they have this dish

that looks like some delicious dessert;

but only to realise it is abalone when you put it into your mouth.

Most wanted dish of the night:

Scallopssss..!

Too good that we ordered 3 plates and that, equals to 18 scallops altogther!

We ordered a lot of food that even my dad was very impressed with the appetite of the 3 ladies.

Then it's time for the suprise!

Ta-Da!

It was all the photos we took during the day.

It was only then dawn on my sister that : "Oh, so this is what you mean by your assignment!"

Haha! Yes, Sis. But my sister isn't that kind of a sentimental person, she is more materialistic and more to a 'practical' type of person. Of course she does appreciate what I did, but not to the extent of jaw-dropping astonishment or flowing-tears. I'm glad that she still likes it.

And next up, some treat from Tao restaurant! (requested by my mummy)

This "ice-cream cake" (literally an ice-cream cake that is made up of ONLY ice-cream) was brought in when the Happy Birthday song was played through the amplifier.

Thank you, but now we have to eat more food and finish the entire bulk of ice-cream. I don't want to be charged for food wastage. NO, I AM JUST KIDDING!!

We like the ice-cream, is was almond pistachio flavoured.

Dear Sis, may your birthday brings you wonderful returns.

Have a GREAT 21st year of age!

A Ruby-ly Suprise.

It has been two weeks which my seniors, apart from finding time for their studies, doing their best to organise a Suprise birthday for the crowd-favourite, youngest lecturer, Ms Ruby. They had an alliance with Ms Ruby's boyfriend to ask him to bring her to Batu Ferringghi just as their usual date and we would suprise her. =D

The evening right after our Mid-term test, we all agreed to meet at Batu Feringghi at about 7.30pm. As usual, the "M'sian time culture" never resist to show itself. Most of us only reach when the time shows 8.10pm. Common eh? But, no, not good. I followed my friend's car, so can't really blame me. XD

We decided to go to beach through Lone Pine. (I'm not sure whether it's a chalet or a hotel or what. But i know it's a temporary place for tourist to stay. =D )

We walked pass the guard house happily, talking amongst ourselves, giggle a little, when the guard noticed something was wrong: we are actually intruders of the hotel!!
He came up to one of us, and asked: " You all Hotel Guest ah?"

"Yayaya," we lied. =S

"What room number?" OOPS..! Er...er...Er...We were stammering..Oh shyt oh shyt, what should we say, what should we say..!!!

Wei Jin bravely gave it a shot: "Room 206" (er..this is actually one of our college classrooms. haha.)

The guard immediately: "no..no..no..no..no..cannot..this is only for hotel guest."

Fine! Hello! Like we want to visit your hotel. We are more interested with the beach then Lone Pine. The beach is public. The path leading to it is also public. Any members of public is allowed to go to public places using public routes. LOL. Unreasonable, i know. wahaha.

We walked further up, passing a 'real' public closed hawker place to reach the beach. We found a wooden beach table and started to set and arrange things up.

We laid the candles around the edge of the table and lighted them up. We were careful enough to make sure nothing is on fire. While we were rushing for time to prepare, Edwin did not help by bickering with Naina while she was trying to finish her job. They were really funny. I overheard some of the things they say.

"Your momma so fat, that when I watch TV, I missed three commercials when she walks pass."

"No. Your momma so fat that when I run around her, it took me three years to complete the circle."

"Right. Your momma so fat that...................................!" And they NEVER end. Haha.

And for heaven's sake, Mother's Day is two days ahead. So much about saying other people momma. Haha. (But, a good one, eh?)

Ya, LOOK at me. I'm Miss World. Naina, the American girl.

Finally we are done!

They gave Andrew (Ruby's boyfriend) a silent call. And yup, they are walking towards the beach, strolling towards our direction.

" On the cue of 1, 2, 3..'Happy birthday Ms Ruby!' "

She was utterly shocked!

On the subsequent second, she was like: "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG" for don't know how many thousand time. She was so touched. Her eyes went red and the tears kept streamming down. It was some tears of happiness! Haha.

"How could you do this to me..!"

"Thank you Thank you Thank you! Thanks a lot"

"OMG, really Thank you."

We ate KFC. It was moments of happiness for me too! I love KFC too much. *munch munch* Mmmm..Mmmm..Chicken chicken. Oooohh..KFC. So tastyly delicious! Yummm..It's finger linkin' good!

In between the party, a Horse-Rider interrupted to us, showing off his brown handsome horse. The horse all of a sudden won Ms Ruby's stardom of the night.

I want to make friends with him. But i was too afraid. XD

OK.

Time for cake.

Let's make a wish.

*I wish I wish I wish...I wish all my students can get an A for their exam..Oh, how I wish I wish I wish*

Eiik. That was actually our wish.

"So, Ms Ruby, You know what to do for our exam, right?"

"Ms Ruby, you are very touched right? Give us an A for our exam!"

"Ms Ruby, exam all A already ya?"

She keenly nodded her head. Ya Right. You wish la. Dream on!

Ya, the cake was too super duper nice that Ruby's nose would also want to have a bite.

Of course, we put on the party not to get an A. It was out of our senior's sincerity and thoughtfulness. Eii...So Sweet!

I know u enjoyed yourself Ms Ruby. Thank everyone la. Haha. =P Hope you have a wonderful year ahead. And Birthday wishes coming true. =)

On April the 10th..

On this special morning, I specially groomed myself better since it was my day. Have to look a lil' more special than everyone else.

When I reached, my mates were greeting me with their best happy birthday wishes. Thanks folks! =) To my suprise, I received two gifts frm my college mates. A Winnie the Pooh plush toy from the unexpected Jeffrey and a music CD, Beautiful Hits Under One Umbrella, from Ian.

Beautiful Hits for Beautiful people. XD (I mean me,obviously)

Thanks Jeffrey, you gave me a great big suprise. Haha.

After having a 'group lunch' sort of celebration in my college restaurant, I went to meet Jelly in Queensbay. I called her before that to delay our appointment of 12:00pm and @ 1:34:05pm, I received a msg from her:

"Wei are you coming or not? I super duper uber hungry d la.
U're the birthday girl doesnt mean u can starve me ok"

P.S Pardon the 'super duper uber' terminology. It is a result of my once excessive usage of the term superduper chaoji shifen feichang, which equally means very very very very very superduper. XD

Oops...At that time I was still having my lunch and talking talking with my mates. So I told her will be there in 30 mins time. We went to Queensbay for her lunch @ about 3 smthg pm. Haha. I do starve my friends off.

Then Jelly brought out another box.

A Charm bracelet. I do get a lot of Music thingy this time around. Ahh. I so love them. Thanks Thanks Thanks. =)

At night, my parents treated me for a wonderful dinner @ Harwick House, Northam Tower. The whole outlook of the place wasn't very impressive. However, their service is of compliments. They really make you their guest.

My Birthday Dress. Mind you is Birthday Dress not Birthday Suit. LOL

Meal time.

First up was my Drink.

Silky Temple.
-A simple blend of Sprite and Geradine Syrup with an interesting name-

Fish and pasta. I cant remember the exact name of it. But look as nice, taste as good. Fish meat so fresh and tasty.

My camera then die on me. Luckily I have my new 2-megapixel phone. Not as high quality, but better than a sorry.

Suddenly...

My mum handed me another suprise gift. A child-like yet ambitious gift. (HUH?)

Unexpectedly....it was....

a toy car from Shell V-Power Racing...ahahaha.
It's tagline: The NEW Ferrari model with dynamic engine sounds.

My mama told me: Make this YOUR real car one day.
Silently in my heart, it says: YES! *with my 'fullest' determination* I can make it!
So you now know why I said it's a child-like yet ambitiuos gift? Dare to Dream. Dream BIG.

There was also an amazing card.

My mum kept saying: This card is just meant to be for you. I was so thrilled when I saw this card. See the word 'superstar'? This card is just meant to be for you hor? (Aww..my loveliest, tian tian de mummy)

Inside, she wrote:

" You are such A Fabulous SuperStar Angel brought On Earth On 10.4.1990. You Are Such A Lovely Angel Brought To Be With ME. TQ."

"You are Funny, (with words of Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha around the heart shape as you can see on the right side of the card. Awww..CUTE!) Lovely, Cool, Fabulous, Full of Joy& Laughter"

"Sign: Mummy and Daddy"

I always screamed that Jay Chou is "so cuteeeeee..!" But actually, my mum is just as cuteeeeee...!

Back to the meal. Here comes the dessert.

Chocolate Lava with Ice-cream.

How the Chocolate oozes out from the cake and how it mesmerised my tastebud is just undescribable.

Then there was ANOTHER suprise:

Waiter: This is a cake for you in-house for your Birthday.

OMG! Thank you! How astonished I was. I was so touched with the nicely decorated cake. And do you know how delicious the cake tasted? It wasnt just an ordinary chocolate cake yang men-jilat-kan. It was ok, fine a chocolate cake, but with a soft texture and layered with a cruchy cookie beneath. Ooooo, yumyum!

Oh, before that...

My mum asked for a candle and the "One-year-older" Song was sang. Haha. and I made my wish. =) Genie oh Genie, you remembered what I asked for, don't you? *sniggers*

The cake wanted a shot with me. XD

That was my 18th birthday. Before I left, the waiters even wished me 'Happy Birthday'. That was what I meant by they really make you their guest.

Thank you Mum. Thank you Dad. A Million Million Thanks.
(Which makes it a billion times, am I right?)

Everything was just wonderful. I have lovely friends. I have lovely Family.

What more could I ask for?

Thanks. I LOVE You.

Cant see? Let me make it BIGGER..

It's the GREAT, BIG 10th! 10th of APRIL!

And I really had a WONDERFUL GREAT BIRTHDAY this year. Thanks. =)

Firstly, a week before the 10th, I had a small but wonderful celebration with my fellow G-Cliques and the two other "Prince and Princess", Alex and Shu Hong. The advance celebration is due to their very-near-to-my-actual-day exam and so I'm considerate enough to make it earlier. (And also, I cant be inviting no one that can make it, rite? XD) The other reason is to make it before our Miss Oh Su Lin goes back to her England so she could celebrate togther with me. Which, makes me the most special G-Clique member among the rest, to have her during any of our birthday after she went to England. =)

Miss Oh Su Lin and Me.

It was at a lovely romantic place with a funny name, called Jemputree @ Jalan Chow Thye, off Jalan Burmah. It's a half open air dining place lighted up dimly with a feel in the jungle with some timber-made tables. Some background music were played alternating between some English Pop Songs and rainforest percussion music. We manage to book the one of the 3 available small hut with a Japanese-style table setting where we sit on the floor and the table is just above our lap. It really feels like you are dining in a Tropical Forest.

Alex, HuiTheng, Me, Jelly Ooi & Lee Phey Chien

But it's funny how they decorate the place. They even have some coral decorations and seashells. So do they want us to feel like dining in the sea or in the jungle? Haha.

unintended ghostly effect. Duplicating Me, HuiTheng & Oh Su Lin.

The Lot. Aiks, that bottle!

Jelly, Oh Su Lin, Phey Chien, Hui Theng, Liow Ying Tian, Jello XD

G-Clique.
We 'rainbowed' the place.

Alex & Shu Hong. I'm the Queen! XD

Then the time clocked for presents......Unwrapping them one by one, presents by my loveliest lovely friends and family turned out to be the those of the most wonderful things on earth...

They all make me fly high, I love them all..! But there was a particular one that took my breath away....

Oh-so-pretty, and, ahh-I'm-so-Lovin'-it!

This was the earings that I wanted so much when I spotted it in the shop. I stared and stared at it, tried it on, praised myself a bit for the flatter, and then.....had to put it back. Because it was a little over-priced, I decided to wait till I have enough to jingle before I exchange my money for this. But there were only one pair left, so I really bid a sad goodbye before I left my shop just in case somebody else got it before I have enough money. (So dramatic.LOL)

A few days later, I asked my buddies whether the pair was still there, Hui Theng said to me: " Oh..I think it was bought by someone else alrdy. I didnt saw it on the rack." My heart sank at that instant. "Nevermind. The earrings was obviously not meant to be yours. You and It have no fate. I'm sure in future you would find something much better than it." Yea, she was quite right. So I decided to search of something better.

On my celebration night, Liow Ying Tian gave me an accessory box. I exclaimed in astonishment and was over-joy with what landed on my view when I opened the box. It was this pair of earrings where the ballerina is dancing gracefully along with the quavers rhythym of the melody of the piano and the singing of the violin. Ooooh.. I'm so Lovin' it.

they definitely flatter me, don't they? XD

Lovie them all.

Terima Kasih superduper Banyak Liow Ying Tian.

Terima Kasih superduper Banyak Jelly Ooi.

Terima Kasih superduper Banyak Hui Theng.

Terima Kasih superduper Banyak Lee Phey Chien.

Terima Kasih superduper Banyak Oh Su Lin.

last but not least, without you without my party,

Terima Kasih superduper Banyak Banyak my Daddy and Mummy.

Thank you =)

P.S It took my life to update this post. Considering I'm quite a newbie. My back is now aching like crazy. It was like some massive construction. Ouch!
