Happy Little Things ;)

I just came back from my run, still in sweat and smell while updating the blog. Heh.

That's just so that you can also feel my happiness getting back to my run at Botanical Gardens after such a long break. I used to run at least 3 -4 times a week, so being busy with every other thing makes me have to put running aside.

I am very happy to see my friends there too! =D They always make me laugh. Heh.

Oh! But one unhappy thing. There's one lady around her mid-30s ( I put late-30s at my facebook status, she's not that old I think. Must do her age some justice), who go as often as I do to run, looking fitter and hotter than I do. Very Double-u-Tee-Eff you know. Especially the legs. Haha. I'm jealous. Before that, she's already fit but with a lil' bit chubbiness and that made her looked too muscular for a lady, but now she has lost weight and looks really good! Gosh

I must really get back on track on a very regular basis now! Get fitter and let her be jealous of me instead. Because she's actually very unfriendly! She never smiles to me every single time when she looks at me, even though I tried to smile to her. Plus we usually run past each other in an opposing direction, so we will surely bump into each other almost every single round. Bah. She really never try to smile. Bah. Whatever shit.

But put that aside, today's run is a happy run! ;)

Posting up photos of little things that have made my day in spite of the stressful exam mode.

#1

Nishka
Veen Dee's husky puppy, Nishka!

2 and half months baby! But bigger than my 3-year-old Money. Super active and kept biting.

Nish2
There's once she lurched towards my face and made my left contact lens came off. Geees.

Oh, btw can ignore my face on the photo above. Heh.

#2

soldier toy
Colourful Roboo!

Wind it and this is a little toy will shake its' butt and move its arms. It's really cute!

I bought it from the Deaf & Dumb Association that has their people going around places to places then table to table to sell their little toy gifts.

Not my first time seeing them selling like this and receiving cold water from table to table. It's so heart-wrenching seeing them being turned down so many times despite their sincerity in seeking people's support. But I do understand, very little people needs this kind of gifts.

Anyway, I hope my little contribution helped made their day a teeny weeny bit! ;)

#3

baby Amber
Baby Amber!

My classmate, Wei Jin's new born baby daughter! She's so tiny and so cute and kept making multiple incomprehensible face expressions.

13860_190525713047_778793047_2964981_1766875_n

To let you see her better, got it from her dad's facebook. Hehe. ;)

Ain't these really happy little things?

Life's good. Live life smiling and laughing, hehe, like I do!

City Run 2009

My eyelids heavily lifted themselves up and rubbed them as I strove to wake up in the early hours of the day.

I yawned while I turned to look at the time.

6.59am.
*%^&*(*$%#@#$%&(()(^%#%$^%*#

My race is officially flagging off at 7.30am.

omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg.

Half an hour to wash up, dress up, drive there, park there, pin up my race no., and to get ready at the starting line.

So many to do so little time. Because I BLOODY OVERSLEPT on my RACE DAY. =S

So when I reached in front of Komtar, which is the starting point of the run, it was 5 mins to 'taking off'. I hastily pinned up my race number with one side still flying loose, ran to the starting point, took the deepest breath, tighten just my left shoe lace (cos I don't have time for the other side =S) and off I go with our CM's official flag-off right on time.

Running in a race like this is really fun and satisfying.

At the start, a lot of the seemingly energetic and pumped up enthusiasts will dash ahead full-force, in the aim of passing through as many runners as possible and be at the front to take the lead.

I just stayed at my pace, running steadily sturdy, seeing some of the satisfied expression of those that just ran past me. It is not that I did not want to perform my best, but through experience and advices, if I were to try way too hard at the beginning stage, you would see me dragging myself to the finish line.

This does not just apply to me. You will see why.

After around 10mins of run, I can see those initial-enthusiasts starting to slow themselves them while panting quite hard. Their footsteps turned smaller and slower, their head dropped down losing strength for support and gradually they decided they just.....have to stop.

See what I mean by taking it steadily sturdy?

This time it's my turn to secretly feel extra-proud, especially when I see that I am running past the young teenage boys that have such sky-high ego that ran with all their might at the first 300m, when they forgot they still have 8.3km ahead of them to be completed. ;)

This time around I did not have any interesting encounter like I did for my recent last, except for having to run under the rain for some distance.

On my recent last at Chung Ling High School, a student from the school was running tightly shoulder-to-shoulder with me, fearing any moment if I was one step ahead, he will have to face with any kind of bad consequences.

At any point of time when I were to be slightly back-facing him, he would accelerate to keep up with me. It's funny to see how he somehow struggled a bit to protect his so-called pride, cannot lose to a girl ma right.

Chung-Ling-Cross-Country-2009-075

After some while of keeping up, that guy suddenly turned to me and said in Chinese: " Hey, leng lui, you are half way to finishing line already. Add Oil." and off he went way ahead of me.

I was thinking: Walao how dare this young kid called me leng lui, it's like I'm elder them him okay. And I actually thought he looked really familiar too; I recalled and realised he's actually a brother of my friend from primary school with a catchy name, whom I have never met for the past 6 or 7 years.

How small the world can be.

Anyway back to the race I'm still running halfway through. Haha.

I took it really steadily this time, did not push really hard, but miscalculated the finishing line, and underused my energy, however, at the end, clocked in at quite a reasonable time, I would say.

But when the results were out, I was dumbfounded.

SDC14474edit

Really, seriously. Look at my ecstatic funny-looking expression.

SDC14477

Never have I gotten such achievement in distance running, at least, I did not have anticipated to get it anytime so soon.

I expected just a Top 10 and that will do me good; Top 5 will make me smile from ear to ear; Top 3, hmmm...I just won't dream of getting it, not just yet.

But guess what?

SDC14478edit

A scary 1st Runner-up trophy in my hands!

I think I actually smiled starting from one ear, went around my head, made the 36o degrees and reached back the same ear.

Happy! ;)

That means, my 4 days per week trainings, some naggings from my dad, (minor) controls in diet and etc, paid off! There were no monetary reward but having this trophy handsomely sat on my living room is good enough when I need to brag about myself a little to guests coming to my house! ;D

oh.my.god.

"Honey, Honey how he thrills me. Ah-ha. Honey Honey
Honey, Honey, nearly kills me. Ah-ha. Honey Honey!"

I tried to suppress the excitement. But I couldn't.

I want to say I'm at cloud nine. But I think I'm beyond.

I was so excited about going to gurney today. I dressed up properly because who knows we could bump! Afterall, that's my very main reason for suggesting to go to Gurney.

And yes, there is a reason why I was so nicely dressed, not just because I'm going to Gurney and I didn't want to look like a trash, and also not just because I feel like it or just for the fun of it.

To the friends that were together with me this afternoon, you've got it right why I was so nicely dressed. I was just lying about the reason I said. ;P

I would not have expected things will turn out so super duper smoothly; from the ancient one-stop to Gurney Plaza. Not that I have planned it but the events just unfold themselves joyfully one by one.

Dumbfounded with the magnificence;

I'm just exhilarated today! =DDDD

Happy CNY: Kiddy-overdose

I see a lot of bloggers blog about how sad and boring their Chinese New Year is. Hello, where did all the fun go? Nevermind, let me spread the happiness. =)

As Chinese New Year is always the season for get-togethers, I spent quite some time with my nieces and nephews this year.

I never really like kids before. I think they are unreasonable and noisy. Annoys the hell out of me. But there's one lil' kid that changes my whole perspective towards these innocent ever-happy-go-lucky beings.

She is my niece, Queenie. A real sweetheart.

She has grown to be a 9-year-old primary school kid now. But still a darling. ;)

A week before CNY, I was shopping in Gurney Plaza with Lee Phey Chien, and coincidentally there were a bunch of kids from a kindergarten performing on the stage at the main atrium. I couldn't help screaming looking at the adorable and pinchable kids, like I'm seeing Jay Chou. They way the sing and sway like they own the world, made me smile and laugh from eye to eye. I realise a few parents kept turning round, and giving me that stare with each excitement I made.

Lee Phey Chien couldn't help laughing at my behaviour. She told me I've changed.

I frantically clarify my fancy towards kids and lalalalala. She kept me mouth-shut with a simple sentence: It's a good change, ok?

Hehe. Ok.
The expression of the blue shirt boy! If he's a grown up guy, I might faint of charm overdose.

My youngest niece. I helped name her!

Her hobby is sucking. Sucking thumb. Sucking her own thumb. Sucking her own left thumb.

While everybody else is so into the CNY gambling, the beautiful aunty didn't want to play so their parents assigned her to bring them to the playground.

See? I told you can faint of the charm overdose.

(I hope he stays this way forever because usually beautiful kids won't stay beautiful after they reach teenage and subsequently adulthood; and is the other way round for not-so-good-looking kids. This is proven fact because I am so very the super duper ugly that people tell it straight to my mum when I was a little kid. She asked me my mum: 'Why your daughter so ugly one?' Walao.)

See? I told you is the other way round for not-so-good-looking kid, or for my case, ugly kid.

Charm overdosage Kid No. 1

This photo totally melts me down. Hello, how can you resist such a stare? Put the age aside first. If someone gives me that stare, I would probably die.
Charm overdose ma.

Sweetheart Kid No.2

My favourite darling niece

She probably hasn't possessed the C-factor (charm-factor) yet. But beware: It is this type of kid that could kill and melt you down, with just that simple smile. =)

Charm overdosage Kid No. 3

The charm-overdose's younger brother. Charm Overdose Junior.

He's too reserve. It's hard to capture the best moments of him. He hardly open his mouth to talk. It's sad that he keeps his smile down most of the time. I want him to be as happy as his brother. =(

Being with them is fun. They kept giving me good poses and ASK me to take their photos. They are vainer than me, I swear. I can see their future as some big-time model.

No joke. It's seriously in their blood.

Oh yeah..!

Gong Hei Fatt Choy!

HAPPY CHINESE (niu) YEAR PEOPLE!

Gong Hei Gong Hei!

(a lil' bit very late I know. But Chinese have the privilege of celebrating it for 15 long days anyway! =D )

OMG. How can a dog be so cute!!! Whose is this?

OF COURSE MINE LA. lei chui a?

I can enjoy her cuteness every single moment. Please don't be jealous.

Oops, sorry, topic diverted.

Shouldn't put the picture of my Money, people might mistaken this year is Year of Doggie. Aiya, sorry.

HAPPY CHINESE moo moo YEAR!

Is the Year of Ox. The moo moo Ox. So automatically, at the brink of the 1st day of Chinese New Year, my handphone message inbox kept singing its tune, rejoicing every new year messages that is received. And among all the other messages, I fancy one particular one the most:

"Let's charge like a bull,
Leave the bullshit behind,
Straight to the bull's eye,
Without bullying others!"

A Chinese New Year wish by my warrior friend, Roger.

I like how the word 'bull' (aka cow aka ox, whichever it is, they mean the same) is used and the meaning it portrays. I just couldn't agree more!

And the Year of Ox, for a Horsie like me, the many areas in life are predicted to be fairly good or I choose to believe, very good, in 2009. (Every year I also believe very good one la.)

Anyhow, not to be superstitious, but just as a reference, a brief analysis on your Horsie life 2009:

Career: Despite the many obstacles that you may encounter during work, there will be a strong Lucky Moon Star, that will show up to support and help you solve the problems of entanglement. So it's very good. No need to worry at all.

Money: This luck is still struggling. (But heck cares? They might not be true. Lalalalala.) Advice us not to expect windfall and since we cannot increase income, we have to cut our expense. So no more LV or Jimmy Choo, wear your Bata.

Love: There is a Love Star coming in 2009. That means you have a chance to meet someone you like. Both of you will produce the passion in love, (Hoho, really? We shall see. ;D ) but will not last long. (What is this? Hoho. Whatever.)

Health: The signs indicate illness, exhaustion, panic, fright or weakness coming to people. If you have poor health in 2008, your health won't have any improvement this year. Horse people must make sure have enough sleep during the night. (Big time hinting me!! This one I'll listen. Hehe.) Otherwise, they will have weak energy and weak resistance against the disease.

Fortune: In general, Horse people don't have a good luck in 2009, but their luck have significant improvement when comparing with 2008. Luckily, whenever you encounter the big difficulty, someone will appear to solve the problem for you. Therefore, you shouldn't give up anything when troubles come to challenge you.

Report ended.

Whatever it is, never be influenced or stucked with whatever it says. You make the luck and the difference towards your life, not all these Feng Shui Master that predict you your life. Of course, they will predict for you because it's their job, but you can choose not follow it and then make a colourful turn.

Chinese New Year is different at home this year. After my sister's marriage, she has to be at her husband's place. It's without her during Reunion dinner; no extra person to help my mum put in the money into the angpow; No more sister-bugging-me-up-from-bed early on the first day. I gotta entertain myself already. Gees.

No wait. Luckily I have my Money to entertain me!

my red nail polish to keep me busy with;

My handsome nephews;

And my funny dad that takes photos purposely with his eyes closed.

Can he be less funnier than that? Aiyoyo.

More about Chinese New Year in later posts! =D

I like Gong Xi Fa Cai Chinese New Year!

Singapore Getaway # Day 2

Let me continue with my long-ago S'pore trip back in December 08..Oh Gosh, so outdated. Sorry!

The day drizzled a bit when we woke up in the morning. Me and Leah are all packed to set out to Siloso Beach, Sentosa for a fun day out.

At the same time, we prayed that the teeny weeny rain would stop entirely and the weather would smile brightly again. (Like my million-dolar-smile. =DDDDD)

However, I was still very blown away by the flabbergasting stories I heard from Leah. I just couldn't imagine me being her. Couldn't, no hell way. Oh GOSH.

It's still drizzling when we reached Siloso Beach. But we wouldn't and couldn't care much, it's just too stupid to try to shelter ourselves from the rain when we have came so far to play our hearts out!

We played a volley ball game of 5. And having our single-arm Warrior, Gary (or how we call him 杨过), to play with us, was just truly inspiring.

As we got more energetic and enthusiastic about the game, the ball started to roll further. I didn't want the ball to roll down from the slope and down into the waters, so I ran as fast as I could to grab it. Just when I wanted to turn back for the game after I got the ball in the middle of the slope on the beach, I saw my bunch of friends walking towards me, with a sinister gaze and a the grin I only see in the Joker character of the movie Dark Knight.

I can sense the danger coming.

Before I could flee, Leah grabbed me from the top and Geoff lifted me up on my legs and..1..2..3 SPLASH!

The yellow guy is not Geoff. This photo is just a fake role-play photo. But they ended up throwing me into the sea for the 2nd time.

I know you know that I ended in the sea. Obviously.

Since I'm wet, everybody decided to jump into the sea together. Gary didn't bring any extra clothes with him, so he didn't want to get wet. But at the end, we managed to persuade both Gary and Geoff to swim with just their underwear.

Woohoo.

Gary's underwear somemore is white in colour. OMG.

I know right. It gets semi-transparent in contact with water. Hoi, don't drool. =P

And he got this two 'supermodel' to pose with. Lucky guy. Damm.

But but but, at least, I get to be their own idea of FHM Cover Model.

Please don't slap me. or Throw me rotten eggs. You throw at them. They say one. =D

Our stomachs then growled like mad after our swim and crazy games in the sea. In one of the games, my penalty was to run to a couple that are taking photos, offer them my help in taking their photo, and when they got ready for the snap, turn the camera and take a shot of myself and run away after returning the camera to them.

Siao eh. I was so so reluctant. This is so evil plus embarrassing ok! But in the end I still did it, but minus the 'take a shot of myself and run away' part. I took one for them before I ran away. Hope they remember my face forever! =P

Anyway, dinner time. Yummy yum yum. Hungry stomachs were heard roaring.

We had dim sum dinner at Geylang. I can't help it but kept looking out for chics. As in chic-kens, as in prostitutes. Woohoo.

As always, our nights are forever young, we continued our night at Z-Zang's place for a game of CashFlow.

It's super addictive! You are addicted to get rich, to get wealthy, to get..omg..damm rich and wealthy!

Getting out of the Rat Race (the circle), and jump onto the fast track and buy up your own dream! After that, you can everyday shake leg, watch people racing like a rat. -.-

Now, I'd love to be in the position that I can shake leg everyday, and I don't care people race like a rat or a cat.

Oh yeah!

Singapore Getaway # Day 1

My trip to Singapore was a magnificent getaway right after my final exam. It was as if I never had any exam the day before.

My bus trip from Penang to S'pore actually took a long 14 hours. As all direct buses were fully taken, I had to transit at KL, and in the fear of not being able to get a bus ticket over to there. All in all, it was a havoc journey. I even thought I left my handphone at home, and had to borrow a phone from a stranger in the bus to contact my mum and my friend at S'pore, how foolish. But at the end, when I opened my luggage when I'm in S'pore, I realised...

"EIII, my handphone is actually inside my lugagge!"

Haha. You can slap me.

The whole world was so worried about me. (Ok, I'm exaggerating.) I received 34 missed calls and 10 msges. Buahahaha.

The next morning, I headed down to East Coast Park for a day of "Roller-blading, Cycling, Eating, Hearts-connecting and Yapping" with my fellow warrior mates.

First stop was to McDonald's for breakfast.

And they made me sing 'Sway' in the restaurant and I did. Not like we didn't have enough stares from the people in there because of our uniformity and noise. They are mad people. Hohoho.

I was doubtful to do it at first. Not like I never sing or dance or do stupid things in front of public, but not with everybody giving me full stares and attention when I do it. But I did it anyway. AHO!

After the hearty breakfast from McD (plus some 'mild' sultry dance moves from Sway), it's time for some Roller Blading!

It's about 10years since I last roller blade. I have a pair of this equipment at home, but I never use it after the craze was over 9 years ago.

When I wore it, I felt funny. I have a pair of roller legs and I suddenly don't know how to walk! The path from the rent shop towards the blading lane was kinda steep, it was even harder for me recall my knowledge and skill in making my first 'roll' in roller blading.

After some 'turn & roll', I managed to get back the hang of it and bladed like there's no tomorrow..

At the same time, roll and tumble and topple..

And fall myself on my knee!

It doesn't look as disgusting here. But this wound won't dry up until a week later.

I bladed for 3 hours straight. It's crazily tiring going almost-almost the whole stretch of East Coast Park to and fro.

So we decided to give each other a massage.

Because it rained all of a sudden, we continued our day at the bowling ring.

And some of my crazy friends decided to give it a try playing bowling with roller blades, they never die before ma.

Then I realised I seriously suck in bowling.

Look out for the least score, that have to be my game.

After such a long day, we went to Bugis to have steamboat for dinner. The shop is a very compact place. You have to squeeze through every slight space possible to get to your seat, but you have every food for steamboat under one roof.

Shan-shan, despite being the tiniest size among us, had the greatest gut. She stood up on the chair, all of a sudden, to get a standing ovation from us. Siao eh. But of course we gave her the most thunderous applause that could ever fit into a small shop like that.

The night wrapped up with the decision of going to one of the clubs over at Clark Quay. Hoho. You'd probably guess we give each other goodbye hugs and then head back home and sleep. It's only 11pm at that time and the night is still very young!

It's my just my 2nd time to a club and 1st time on the dance floor. And I had bad experience because I was too inexperience. And argh, I don't even want to think about it. Haha.

Anyhow, take a look at the photo of the day!

The legendary bedtime story's character: Jack and the Beanstalk.
